Indo-French cooperation on heritage planning

Indian cities and territories of the world heritage of UNESCO formed in 2006, the Association ’Network of Indian Cities of Living Heritage’, and now network of Indian historical cities (NIHC) in order to create an exchange network within the country. It now has 22 members.

The ANVPAH & VSSP accompanies NIHC in its structuration and promotes networking of Indian communities with its members.

Indian network is based on the French network to:

  • develop networking of skills and actors
  • promote international exchanges in the context of decentralized cooperation focusing on financial engineering actions and urban planning
  • create regulatory and administrative tools for the protection and enhancement of heritage
  • developp economic and social projects based on the respectful use of culture and heritage
